  • Ach ja und ich hab mir gstern doch tatsächlich den Fuß verstaucht beim Taekwon-Do Training. XD. Na ja so schlimm ist es nicht, aber alt nen Übermut oder so gehabt^^

Rice University of Houston

  • visited Rice University of Houston, which is a private Colege. It is huge and beautiful, but you have to pay a lot for it =)

What have I seen so far?
  • American Baseball (boring if you don´t understand the rules =)
  • Soccer Game (more fun than in Leipzig. People celebrate the game like a little Party and there isn´t any agressive atmosphere...
  • American Cookout
    The Ice Cream is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Social work?
  • Food Bank Houston (preparing foodbags for poor family...it was impressive)
  • Feed The Homless (preparing little lunchbags fpr homeless people)
Di you know that peanutbutter and jelly belongs on one sandwich?^^Maybe you, but I didn´t ....I have to taste such a sandwich =)

Oudoor theatre

Yesterday we were at the outdoor theatre. It´s free it´s fun it´s for everyone =). Find ich geil^^. People from every corner of Houston (and there are a lot^^) came to the theatre on the hill. The council of Houston built a hill for the theatre, because normally there isn´t any hill. The gras wasn´t natural as well...but nevermind...it was fun. The show´s they playing remind me on typical american musicals =)

After that we went to the museum of natural science to see a special flower. The museum of ntural science is really pretty. normally I´m not the type of person, that like to go to museums, but this museum has a butterfly house=) Unfortunalety in the night the butterfies stay asleep. I have to come back during the day!

Wenn ihr hier an dieses komische Tier ransumt, könnt ihr vielleicht sehen, dass es die Zunge rausgestreckt hat XD

Policy and contact with the law?!…

We were talking about Obama…o no they talked about him (my guestparents)…They like them, but they said that there are a lot of bad tongues for obama as well. this topic is well discussed and obama has a difficult job and he is trying to do his job in a good way (trying to explain their opinion). Of course topical the USA has problems to get everyone by a health insurance. Those insurances are really expensive and it is not like the system in Germany. I think he said that you are just saving money, but I don´t know if I understood it in the right way. The most important thing he said I think was: “Obama will goes in the history like a president that does in a very difficult time his job okay”. He seemed to be very appreciating that.

after Bingo....=)
On the way back from the bar in the night we were stopped by the police. Tim the driver did nothing special wrong. You have to imagine that every cross is ruled by STOP signs. And he stopped on a sign, but maybe he was not waiting sufficient. So the police stopped us. It was really fun to see that, because it was like in a real American movie. The lights from behind….the officer came…and you have to call him officer!!...
the officer was checking out the car with his torch (Taschenlampe) trough the windows…and you get really respected by this guy^^…yeah but nothing special happened…he was just asking what we are doing right here…=)

Second week…which is right now

On Tuesday I hang around with Louis and Terell. We were at a silence place called Chapel for thinking in Lisa…well I did…at the 6th of July it was 1 year ago =(. Jessy told me that there is a pretty gravestone now. I´m really happy about that. Further I got a membership about 2 weeks at the Taekwon-Do school next to our house. It is the same traditional Taekwon-Do. There is just the difference that I do it in the oldschool better^^ way and they in the newschool style. That´s a little bit annoying, because they jump and turn less! But neverdeless^^ it is nice. It is a quiet good master and the training is hard enough. Today the master said (to give a reason for the newschool style):”One thing about Taekwon-Do…Taekwon-Do changes all the time!”…I have to think about that.
Yesterday we stayed at a reagge concert. It was really good. Of course with a black frontsinger XD.

The first weekend…

On /At (Frau Keller have never told me XD) the first weekend I stayed with the family Scuggs, which is my old guestfamily I knew with Lisa when I first came to Houston, at the beachhouse in Galveston. On this place I really missed Lisa, because I´m sure if she had stayed alive now she would stay here with me (I hate if-sentences=). Of course I got sunburned... and I read and talked a lot. It is crazy how much the young people especially the girls uses their i-phone….ooooh myyy guuush (XD). On the 4t of July it was Independence day. We stayed at the beach with a lot more people and were watching some fireworks. A lot of people used to do that every year. Next day we went to Galveston, which is un barrio^^ where a lot of young people live, maybe like the Südvorstadt in American size (but of course not better…!). You will not guess what I bought me….=)….I bought me….aaa…………aaaa……UKULELE =).

My first days…

My first days were not that special. Louis, my guestbrother, arrived at least on Thursday. The Youthgroup arrived on Friday and I firstly had to say Hello to some other people I knew. So I hang around in my room and was reading. I enjoyed reading, but if you mix it with longing (Sehnsucht^^) it´s gonna be bad…
Then on Thursday the there was the big relief(Erlösung^^). I got a membership in the Fitness and Swimming Center next to my home and we saw the Taekwon-Do school next to the swimmingcenter.
At the night I went with Timothy and Sarah to Bingo. I was wondering, how they can play Bingo in their age. Is it really like staying at somebodys home playing Bingo instead of Poker =)? But what it surprise…I haven´t never seen such a growd playing Bingo, having fun and eating fastfood. It was really good and not expensive. You pay $ 10 for around 12 games and in one game you can gain $200 to $400. The money is shared by the Bingo´s of course. Unfortunelty I didn´t win. Ths "event" is every Thursday in a gymnasium and you can bring drinks and foods by yourself too!!!!! After that wewent to a pub. It was a kind of ridiculous that I couldn´t order a beer or a wine….but that it the American law….XD

What was my arrival like?

I was lucky about finding all the ways especially at the stop in Paris. When I arrived at the airport of Houston before you can enter the city you have to answer some questions …I was really exited. And the guy (I tried picked a young in hope he would be nicer to me=) asked me about some guests presents. I defiantly blushed and just said, “ehm, oh…just some noddles”, and he:”…some noodles…!?” and I said Yes. I think he was laughing about that.
Okay what senceless story XD.

In the plain the women next to me ordered prosecco and the male stuardess (I don´t no how to write)...by opening the bottle just spread it all around and just said:” it is luxury, spread the prosecco all around =)".
To say it in short words:
my arrival was good, without one thing. the farewell...Say goodbye esspecially to Gregor…
